The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, frequently leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one service is taking benefit of the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
